What is a Zip Code Map?

A zip code map is a map of the United States that is divided based upon postal zip codes. These maps often show clear lines or boundaries of a specific zip code. Good zip code maps will even show the roads and streets lying within a certain zip code as a geographical reference.

The zip code map is used by the United States government as a means of studying census and demographic data. When a census is held, the results are marked on zip code maps in order to physically view the trends and changes in any given area.
